On the first show of their 65+ date ‘World Heist’ tour, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis took London. They took it, totally killed it. It was a Sold out event, hyped up crowd, 75 minutes of good nutritional HipHop.
These guys are the epitome of modern day HipHop; many styles and sounds merged into their own, lyrical wizardry supported by timeless backing tracks, delivered by a killer stage show. Their stage show is an event in itself, 75 minutes of straight euphoric festival vibes, when they performed ‘Can’t hold us’ it felt like I was in a Gospel Church. They fill the void that Outkast has left.
I caught up with Macklemore and Ryan Lewis before they hit the stage.
On the eve of their album release, they talk on the making of their debut album ‘The Heist’, the soon to be infamous Jimmy Iovine track, putting in work with Schoolboy Q, being mistaken for Mack Maine, and more.
