He went there, Craig goes in one of the hottest records on the street right now.

Big up Spoony for the hook up!

Agreed. But Skeptas version >>> Craig David Version.

And Stat Quos Original >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ANY version

  5. theodyssey Says:

    Seriously was not expecting that.

He can spit tho, always could.

He really is trying to win the streets back HARDCORE lol.

  6. Carl Smith Says:

Who would have thought Craig David spitting on “Talking the Hardest”.

All I got to say is the boy can spit & after being the only black male export this country has had for the last 10 years I gotta give man props!

It ain’t about him trying to spit harder than Giggs as he gives Giggs props at the end of the track in aknowledgement, but it shows that for an R&B singer… man can throw down when he wants & spit some good lyrics that’s more club friendly than Gigg’s version which you can only listen to a certain amount of times before the selling coke thing gets a little played out…

I guess Craig can talk hard after selling 13 million records… I know I would…raggs!!

We need to support this guy rather than sleeping on him as right now he’s battering it on the Bassline front with “Are you up for this” & “Where’s your love?” & his first single from the Greatest hits “Insomnia” is dope!!

    Badbwoy!!

  7. Smacked it

if he keeps dis up he’ll regain his crown as the UK’s topboy

big shout out to Giggs for the original tho

    bless

  8. Craig sounds sick on this!!

I wasn’t really feeling him for the last couple of albums, but lately he’s coming correct………..!

Lovin’ Where’s your love? BIG tune!

Ain’t never seen so many beanz in the dance….. Braapp!!!!!!!!!!

    1

  9. all i gotta say craig has gone back to his roots!
what he does best! spitting over instrumentals!
he did it with his version over ryan leslie-diamond girl
    and now giggs tunes!
he smashes it! big props to the guy he one of the best in the UK!
il b spinning this track:) f2

  10. Mate he merked this who knew Craig would smash it like that.

  11. I think hes smoking the hARDEST

  12. Smashed it so hard that I didn’t even know it was Craig David till I listened more carefully.

Make sure you spin the full length version in your show man as I heard it last night on Mista Jams show and it was a straight no brainer……. Rewind that like the needles about to jump off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Gwan Craig!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. Craig David has no credibility anymore.

  14. Craig’s got more credibility than any other British Black Artist I know.

13million albums sold is from hard graft & being in the industry for 10 years is few & far between from Artist’s nowadays.

We need to support him which in turn gives him credibilty rather than thinking it’s all about the street………. LL cool J said…. there’s a fine line between keepin’ it real & keeping it straight broke…!!

Craig towed the line perfect… I must admit he went off for a hot minute, but right now has returned all guns blazing!!!!

If he had kept doing the 2 step thing & that only he would have died with the scene back in 2003, so fair play to him for having more in him to ride any scene & be standing here today able to buss a Greatest Hits!

No man from street I know in the UK who professes to keep it real has got any more than a couple of hot club tracks & sold a couple of thousand records.

Craig David is International & is British so support man instead of having that blinkered attitude of having to keep it real…keep it street……..

That’s straight long….. man needs food on his table without having to hold a nine or a knife or peddle morphine!!!!!

    Out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bless

  15. Craig sounds gay on this..He keeps ruining songs and has NO credibility what so every any more.
He don’t care about the underground, his just using us again to shot his “Greatest Misses”.
He was good once, but now his swag and desperate..that’s why his talking shit on the Gigs beat.

    Your Grandad trying rap>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Gay David

  16. For al the haters try to support the guy who ’s vocally better then most in the game AND HE IS A BRIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for god sake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tell me somenone who can sing ballads, raps, sings super fast and do that reggae stuff just with an acoustic guitar dam people there is nobody better than him

  17. Born To Do It, was a masterpiece but seriously since then can you rate any of his other works?

If you ask me CD has reached the end of the road when it comes to the music industry, he has served it well with his albums like BTDI and the work with the Stragglers. As British singers go he has been a good one, if you ask me Taio Cruz is a lot more versatile and a great asset to the British Music Industry.

  18. To be honest there’s gonna be haters of Craig David no matter what he does and it’s those same people who wonder why we never have any Black home grown talent make any moves outside of the UK. Grimey’s comments justify what I’m saying. The underground ain’t the guys who are gonna buy Craig’s Greatest Hits anyway as we’ll just download it off our mate, so what does Craig David have to prove to the underground???

All Craig’s doing is enjoying his music & expressing himself. As for Taio Cruz, the guys talented, but what has he really got on Craig? And bwoy he loves sounding more American than the American rappers out there when he tries to rap.

I’m not even a big Craig David fan, but I just can’t stand ignorance from people who just wanna hate for the sake of hating! Where’s your love? is number 1 on the 1xtra Garage chart which kinda blows Grimey’s comment of having no credibility out of the water as 1xtra is the home of underground & the Greatest “Misses” is the Grimey been on another planet for the last 10 years?? All of the tunes on the Greatest hits are top 20 hits.

But like I said, hate if you wanna hate, but don’t be sitting there complaining about the struggle for Urban talent in the UK when clearly one of the greatest who’s sold over 13million records is probably sitting in his sick london pad thinking “Man don’t care fpr idiots who can only say Gay David as their closing line”

Keep up the good sh*t Craig….you’re killing them. Even got the haters wanting to write on this blog as they can’t get enough of someone making moves & just wanna cry about how cack it is for them!!!!!

    Lighter!!!!!!!!!!!

  19. Mr Versatile Says:

Where’s that ginger pr!ck Leigh Francis now, still acting out the same characters he was years ago and Craig is bring fresh music to the masses!

Craig is the best Urban artist we got, he always bounces back despite the unnecessary hate. He’s brought something different with every album, fair enough not every track has been a success but he never lets himself get in a comfort zone, he’s constantly striving to try something new every time he releases a record.

It’s about time the UK got behind him again. He’s shown consistently how versatile he is and all his work is always to a decent standard. He’s never sold the UK out, it’s time we paid him back with some big support.

  20. Ive read with great interest all of the comments on here. i will come clean from the outset so it’s no surprise, I’m involved with the Craig project. Now that out of the way lets get to business. Selling our music in this country is a major struggle and to have 1 of our own sell 13 million albums is an unbelievable effort. I knew of Craig’s music from even before rewind and as soon as i hear ‘What you gonna do’ I was blown away with the delivery, clarity and range of this boys voice. I was even more impressed when I saw him perform as a 17 year old at Twice as Nice. I was completely sold on him when I heard on ‘eeny meeny’… Now this is a tune that wasn’t ever released but the reason I mention it is if you hear him SPIT on that….8 years ago, it wouldn’t come as any surprise to hear him at the MOBO’s and on ‘Talking The Hardest’. The boy has it all. Ok, I understand the frustrations off Grimey and Wass to a degree, ‘ why hasnt he always made tunes like this then?’ But there is a big difference between him not doing it and having no right to do it! Lets not get it twisted!!!! What we should be doing here and always, is judge on merit. He has delivered on this! No question. If you don’t like him personally that is one thing, come out and say that but good work is good work and sometimes you have to just say ‘ boy, man went there…and nailed it’

I love Liverpool football Club and have always hated (in a football fan way) Arsenal but when Thierry Henry started going on with his rubbish ;) you had to take your hat off. Class is Class. Sometimes, like it or not, it needs to be said.

People across the board (industry, youtube, streets) have said that his performance at the MOBOs was the highlight of the show. It was wicked, what part of that could you not like?

Giggs tore that tune to pieces(..they’ll be covered in red like a portion of chips….jeeeez), NO GETTING AWAY FROM IT. Truth is, he smacked it so much Craig wanted to do it! Not compete against it but do his version. Giggs style is a ‘one away’ and must be said, in my top 3 right now.

Anyway, have an opinion but dont hate, slag off, cuss for the sake of it! What’s the point? If a good point is made, fair enough i hear that but hating for nothing?????

I agree 100% Swalox and Teo, he is a Brit and very very talented.

    Bless

    Spoony

BIG UP SEMTEX and MISTA JAM!!!!!!

ps, yes it is really Spoony so you can start telling me I’m a wasteman too lol :)

  21. craig smashed it, he’s 1 of the best artists weve ever had in this country more verstile than alot of em out the worldwide, he deserves respect n he’ll get it

  22. theodyssey Says:

Gotta say big up Spoony for droppin by.

It’s so refreshing to have an opinion of an industry legend, and I mean that not just sayin it coz your readin this….Dreem Team…are you mad fam?!!? All about Artful Dodger vs Dreem Team ‘It Aint Enough’!!!!

    Anyway.

You are always going to get haters, as Craig says himself ‘haters hate all’

It’s obvious Craig is just enjoying his music and obviously isn’t as ‘tied down’ as he once was. Hence working with Ice Cream Records.

With success brings demand, with demand brings expectations…sometimes all are not met (for many reasons)

I’ve heard tracks that Craig has made that have never seen the light of day all because of music politics and they were so dope. I know that there are some 1xtra djs out there too who know what I am talking about.

Sh!t happens at the end of the day and so what if Craig ‘fell off’ he is entitled to win his crown back right?!

I’m just gonna enjoy the music and that’s all that should matter. If you don’t like what you hear then you always have the choice of not listening.

Gotta luv the controversy tho :P

    Peeeace!

  23. Craig sounds HOT!

  24. Spoony, great to see your comments thrown into the mix here. I’ve been Admin on Craig’s official forum amongst other projects for a number of years now and i’m arguably more exposed to people’s views on Craig online than anyone else. In my opinion a number of people in the UK have been under the illusion that it’s unfashionable to support Craig. A lot of people expect/want another ‘Born To Do It’ but the truth is Craig hasn’t sold millions of records by staying in his comfort zone and producing the same sound for the best part of ten years. If he had it would been game over after the second album. Craig is, I believe, the strongest Urban artist we have in this country and it’s about time people started recognising that again. All four albums have produced something fresh, not one album sounds the same as another which is remarkable considering all the outside pressures in the industry. Despite the success he’s enjoyed he remains a genuinely honest and humble person who deserves a lot more respect than he’s had in recent years. If anyone needs a reminder of Craig’s versatility and talent I suggest they go out and buy the ‘Greatest Hits’ on November 24th!

  25. GWAAANNN craig Says:

most of it was sick still

    big up craig david

u can say wot u like bout him, BUT U CANT DENY TALENT!

CRAIG MERKED IT WIV HIS 1ST ALBUM AND HE WAS SO YOUNG

  26. GWAAANNN craig Says:

but born to do it one of the best albums ive ever heard not in th eu.k i mean ever

  27. He MURKED IT PERiOD!!!

DOn’t care wat any 1 says he smashed it and gave Giggs props @ the same time!

You cant sleep on this bruva!!! Mans straight talented & has caused a comotion with this as he suprisingly smacked it up!!!!

    Brapppppp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  28. Bradley Manning Says:

Craig David murked this track for sure!!

All you haters are just jealous of someone with talent.

  29. Giggs owns the track, it’s difficult to better it let alone stand next to it.

I can’t front, he murked it harder than most rappers out here.

  30. As in, Craig murked it harder….the other rap versions aren’t saying anything compared to what Giggs did on the track..

  31. Well if DJ Spoony, Nick H, and DJ Semtex posted here to give Craig his due props, I had better drop by to give Craig his due props all the way from over here in America (Brooklyn, NY)! Craig did his thing on this track! And it was fire! There is no need to hate on the track! Craig is showing his versatility, and his TALENT should be unquestioned in the U.K. The fact that there are still “haters” out there is very surprising to me. You all are lucky to be blessed with such a talented and mature artist! As Craig once said, “You don’t miss your water ’till the well runs dry…” I wish we had artists of his caliber over here in the States!

  32. I ain’t gonna lie.. this isn’t as bad as I expected.. but wtf..

What’s wrong with Craig david.. talkin the hardest.. he needs to llow it.. first he tonks up, learns a few ’street’ words, and spits over A Milli.. now this = badman. Nah don’t think so G.

  33. ^^^ THAT a milli freestyle he did is over 10years old….

  34. Props to Craig for having the balls to even attempt to spit to this track (after what giggs done with it) let alone do a good job.. Craig has always been good on the mcing/spitting front and i’m surprised at peeps who are up in arms about him doing so.. Rmbr he has done this from when he 1st came on the scene, i just wish he would do more of it along with the singing. Sounds good!

    Props!

  35. who's the boss Says:

Respect for the guy, he is vocally one of the best there is.
You can say it wasn’t good or it was just oke. You only say this cos he’s a rnb singer you cant\won’t believe that he is that good for an rnb singer. Listen to the song and just enjoy.
Craig if you read this, to be honest I didn’t like your last album. (top of the hill wtf) Try to get back to the vibe of slicker than your average. Make songs like fast cars, ieni mieni. ANd do the job right with top producers!!!!!!!!! ( not with martin terefe wtf!!!!!!!!!!) Ps take your time if you feel the 5th album isnt that good dont release it then.

  36. I can’t front….Craig smashed it!

I wasn’t too keen on his MOBO performance if I’m to be honest…but this freestyle is hot….Props to Craig for going in over that beat…especially after Giggs killed it.

  37. i fink da man hiz good still middle finger h8z C.D 4 real he done a really cool remix

    hold tight mista jam

    safe

  38. If I’m honest, I used to love Craig David’s music all the way up to the collab with Sting etc… I effectively grew up on him.

Hearing him rap at the MOBOs was corny though. His flow was on point, but he said nothing and that weird mid Atlantic accent doesn’t cut it in rap music. I thought we’d pretty much cut that out the game.
On this his accent stays pretty true most of the way through, but come on how can you talk about him killing it when he says NOTHING.
The only lyric anyone’s quoted is ‘never seen so many beanz in the dance’ that takes no creativity or lyrical ability whatsoever – I teach kids, young young kids and they could write more interesting and pertinent lyrics to this.

Giggs has the streets on lock with his swagger and Craig just wants some of that to rub off by association but I wish he’d just get back to writing great music and leave the streets to artists who can really rep them, even if he could when he was young dudes sold 13 million records – no one can relate to him on that so just make some good tunes and leave rap to the rappers!

  39. CRAIGDAVIDWHATACUNT Says:

    WHAT IS HE PLAYING @???

  40. Big tune…sik remix

  41. louisOubi Says:

woe that rap is a BIG TUNE and sick tune cannot believe a brother took it there, i agree CD is a great talent keep releasing more of this stuff.

  42. jondoe – In response to you, whilst I agree Giggs smashed it you moan about craigs lyrics but to be fair giggs is hardly poignant with his red sauce line… you can pick the worst from both if needs be.

    But hey hater hate on.

  43. DJ BIG RYDE-SN1 Says:

I’ll be honest, he’s not the worst rapper i’ve heard, and this aint the worst version i’ve heard. But i dont think the streets will go crazy for this one… I think people will be more surprised than anything.

  44. this shit goes hard. point blank.

craig always had it in him.

  45. Dowayne aka Supa D Says:

Having grown up with craig in southampton from Day, i’m gonna tell it straight. All the comments above have meritt….both good and bad.Craig has more talent than anybody to come from the UK urban sence, but what people don’t realise is he poineered and gave allot of people the chance they have now. Before craig thier was nothing import after import from the us.since craig the uk sence has more confidence and the music industry itself has more confidence in urban black artist more so now than ever. The problem craig has faced is nobody expected him so didn’t know how to manage his talent. To prove it all his best work came before he signed any record label and was writing from his flat in holyrood estate selling allsorts(no drugs) to make ends meet.

This was pure uncorrupted craig at his best.i agree since then he has tried different things on his albums because thier was no road laid out for him he has made it and others have followed and expanded on what he started.i think what the haters out thier would of loved is to see craig trade talent with our brothers across the pond. This is where real credabillity is made and rightfully so as they have produced the best black music we all grew up on.

Anyhow im tierd, gonna catch some zzzzzzzz sorry for many spelling mistakes hope the message was understood.Keep it real

  46. Christopher Oladiji Says:

yep yep yep!!! he killed it tho – on a real!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh my gawd i neva knew CD cud drop it lyk dat – serious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
